Pakistan Pulls Out of Asia Cup and Junior World Cup
Due to rising political tensions between Pakistan and India causing security concerns, Pakistan has announced they will not be participating in the Asia Cup and Junior World Cup. The Asia Cup is a World Cup-qualifying event, and pulling out most likely will mean that Pakistan will not be playing in the 2026 World Cup.

FIH Lauches “Women Who Thrive Campaign”
The video series celebrates the “historical and ongoing imact of women in the sport of hockey”. The first two episodes of Luciana Aymar and Rani Rampal are available on watch.hockey.

Pan Americans Streaming Package Now Available
For those looking to watch next week’s Pan American Cup, you can now purchase the streaming package here for $30. Not that this tournament is not included in the 2025-2026 FIH Events Season Pass, and requires a seperate subscription.

Pan Americans Start Thursday!
The USA does not play before next week’s news brief will come out, but there are 4 Thursday games:
Canada vs. Paraguay Women’s at 10:30 AM ET Argentina vs. Uruguay Women’s at 7 PM ET
Canada vs. Mexico Men’s at 8:30 AM ET
Chile vs. Trinidad & Tobago at 5:30 PM ET

We will have a PanAm preview out early next week.

First Look at LA28 Schedule Made Available
Field Hockey will start on Wednesday, July 12 and the medal games will be on Friday, July 28 and Saturday, July 29. Field Hockey starts matches prior to the opening ceremony, which does not take place until July 14. Press Release

2025-26 Junior USMNT Performance Team Selections Announced
The Junior U.S. Men’s National Performance Teams for U16, U18, and U21 have been announced by the staffs. For the list of athletes, visit USA Field Hockey's Website.

Athens Wins U14 NEXUS
Athens took gold and Montreal took second. Los Angeles won bronze in a shootout victory. Team Berlin was awarded the Barbara Longstreth Award. Press Release

Paris Wins U16 NEXUS
Paris took a 3-1 victory in the gold medal match, with Montreal earning the silver. The bronze medal was award to Team Milan, and Amsterdam recieved the Barbara Longstreth award. Press Release
